Both Hampton Park Terrace and Wagener Terrace flank Charleston’s historic Hampton Park. With the exception of Longborough, a new 80-plus-home development located at the back of Wagener Terrace, most of the homes in these two Upper Charleston neighborhoods were built in the first half of the 20th century. Popular among young professionals, families and Citadel students, the older homes boast larger yards, close proximity to Downtown Charleston and affordable pricing.
With its extensive system of sidewalks and shade trees, the Hampton Park area is excellent for walking, and the park itself is home to gorgeous scenery, dog-friendly fitness trails, a duck pond and regular events. The 60-acre commons was used as a horse race track in the 1830’s and transformed into a park in the early 1900’s.
